Laxman Aelay was born in 1964 in Kadireni Gudem, Nalgonda District in Andhra Pradesh . He completed his BFA from J.N.T.U., College of Fine Arts in Hyderabad.
The artist has several solo and group shows to his credit and his paintings are part of many private collections both in India as well as abroad.
Laxman Aelay also has worked as a publicity designer for ace Director Ramgopal Varma's Films like "Rangeela","Satya" etc.
He has also worked as an art director for films such as "Thodu", "Nirantharam", "Patha Nagaram Lo Pasivadu", Inscrutable Americans (English).
