Fawad Tamkanat, a native of Hyderabad was born in 1962 in a poet’s family in India. He has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from JNTU and Central University respectively. Fawad is a recipient of the university gold medals in B.F.A and M.F.A
Fawad is a versatile and prolific painter who works with a variety of subjects , forms and imageries. Most of his works are on the feminine form and this has been his favorite subject. Our personal favorite are his women portraits.These potray beautiful women bedecked with jewellery, tattoos and flowers and docile expressions. His latest works potray the street culture of Hyderabad.
He has held several solo shows and group shows in India and abroad.

Fawad has worked with renowned European print makers in Denmark and has attended international workshops.
His works are in the collections of NGMA, New Delhi; Vingsted Centre, Denmark; Peter Mullers’s collection Germany, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi and many public and private collections in India and abroad.
